Terms of Service (Användarvillkor)

PrayNow is a place for intercession. You write what you're carrying, others pray for you, and you can pray for others. That's the whole of what this app is for.

What you can ask for

Anything. Illness, debt, a relationship that has broken down, an addiction, a fear you can't say out loud anywhere else, a death you're grieving. Nothing is too small or too shameful to bring here. Shame should never be the reason someone doesn't ask for prayer.

Write so nobody can work out who you mean

There's a line, and it isn't about which words you use — it's about what the text gives away. Write so that nobody reading it could work out who you mean, whether that's the person you're writing about (if it isn't you) or anyone else involved. It often takes less than you'd think: a first name together with a place can be enough to identify someone in a small town, even though the same details would be entirely anonymous in a big city. Keep in mind the person your prayer is about — someone who may never have used PrayNow themselves, and has no idea their illness, divorce, or addiction is being published here. That's who the text has to protect.

Your text is read before it's shown

Before a prayer becomes visible to others, it's screened automatically, to catch what doesn't belong here. Some prayers are also passed on for a person on our team to look at. We do this to protect both the person writing and everyone reading.

We can remove text and block accounts

We remove prayers that break this rule — that identify a real person, or that contain what the screening exists to catch: threats, hatred, spam, or sexual content that has no place in a prayer. If someone breaks these terms repeatedly, or in a way that harms others, we can block the account so that person can no longer log in. A block can be lifted if we judge the reason for it no longer applies.

These terms also exist in Swedish. If the Swedish and English texts say different things, the Swedish text governs.
